Museum Partners
Arts Impact is an object based arts education program emphasizing
the importance of transfer of arts knowledge from the classroom
to an original work of art or live performance. A cultural study
trip to a museum exhibition or live performance with his or her
class is required of each participating teacher. Arts Impact pays
the admission fees for the exhibition or performance. The cultural
educators at our partner organizations provide critical support
to the teachers in several ways. They participate in the Summer
Institute so that participants will get to know them personally
and hear first hand about programs and resources.
Individualized study guides and tours, based on personal conversations
with the cultural educator, direct student response and focus to
concepts directly related to the art lesson in the classroom. In
the performing arts, the cultural educator provides a purposeful
lens to view the performance as well as a guide to lead students
in a response to the performance that relates directly to concepts
studied in the classroom.
Other educational programs and resources are offered by our cultural
partners and are detailed on each of their websites.
